BBFO 2010

Day 6 - Tuesday - February 2, 2010

Not a very exciting day.  This is the last day, and even though your excited to get home and see the wife, it's sad because you know the great riding you have done for the last several days are ending.
There is not anything really exciting to write about today, it started with breakfast at the restaurant where we ate last night.  The food was pretty good, except the hash browns were like potato chips.  You didn't need a fork to eat them, just pick them up like a chip and go for it.

We left the motel around 8 am heading south on 55 towards Uvalde.  Once we hit Uvalde we headed east on 90 and that is where we stayed until we picked up I-10 in San Antonio.  The weather was foggy and cold, but for the most part dry.  The weather channel stated we are going to get wet on the way home, we just wasn't sure where it would start.

We stopped in Seguin for gas and to take a short break.  We then continued east on I-10 for about 10 miles and then cut down to 90-A via FM 2438.  After we turned on 90-A I noticed my right mirror was shaking pretty bad.  I reached up and grabbed it and found the whole assembly was loose.  I told the other guys to go on, but I was going to pull over and tighten it up.  It turned out all three of the mounting bolts were loose.  It only took me a couple of minutes to tighten them so my delay was not long.

We planned to stop in Eagle Lake for lunch, and I was able to catch up to the guys just before we arrived there.  We had lunch at Taco Tony's which is one of our regular stopping points when returning from trips.  Brian wasn't there, but earlier he said he was headed straight to the house because some work issues came up.  It's nice to be unemployed.

After lunch we headed home.  We could tell that we just missed the rain, and at times we would get a light drizzle or two, but nothing significant.  I arrived home around 3 pm.

It was a great trip.  Good riding, good weather, and great friends.  Till the next time.
