Heading East - Day 10 - 11

08/02/10 - 08/03/10 (Monday - Tuesday)

Since I was still traveling alone at this point, I got off to a fairly early start.  As I headed west through the middle of Chambersburg, they did have an interesting statue in the downtown traffic circle.  Not quite sure what it was, but it was interesting.

I had all day to go 200 miles, so I routed my path through as many back roads as I could find.  One thing I can say about Maryland and Pennsylvania is that the country side if beautiful.  The only problem I had was finding a place to pull over and take some pictures.  Unlike out west there are no scenic pull outs, and the traffic is just enough to where you can't stop in a moving lane to snap a pictures.  I was able to get a couple along the way.

I did stop for lunch in some small town cafe in Claysville, PA, and up to this point I did not know someone could butcher cooking a hamburger steak, but they did.  It was by far the worst hamburger steak I have ever eaten.  Food wise that was the highlight of my day.

I arrived at Liz's aunts house around 3PM.  The rest of the day we just sat around talking.  I went to bed fairly early because there was a little bit of to much girl chatter for me.

Early Tuesday we headed south.  The day was uneventful, but amazingly we had some great scenery from the interstate.  We ended up in London, KY for the night.  Tomorrow I plan on making it to Dothan, but it may be a long day since we will only be traveling back roads.

Wednesday night I will not have Internet, so it will be a day or so before the next post.
