Heading East - Day 12 - 13 -14 -15

08/04/10 - Wednesday  to 08/07/10 - Saturday

I know I have done a pretty poor job of blogging this trip, but it is a bit different than a motorcycle trip.  A lot of the things we have done have involved family, and I do not believe that it would make for interesting reading.

I left off on Tuesday, so I guess I will start with Wednesday.  Wednesday we continued heading south towards Dothan.  It was a very hot day.  As we took the back roads and could see the banks temperature signs, most showed over a 100 degrees.  The scenery was great, but it was too hot to get out and enjoy it.

We stopped for lunch in Gadsten, AL at the local Shoney's (Liz's choice) and we should have drove on down the road a bit.  It was not a very good meal.  We arrived at Liz's mom's house around 6:00 PM and it was good to get off the road.

Thursday was a travel day from Dothan to Clarksville to visit my mother.  We got a fairly late start, and stopped for breakfast in Abbyville, AL.

It was a great breakfast.  The had potato cakes that were to die for.  I haven't had potato cakes in years.

After breakfast it was just a long hot drive to Clarksville, TN.  We arrived in Clarksville around 4:00 PM and as always it was good to see my mother.

Friday and Saturday was just two days of hanging around my mother's house trying to stay out of the heat.  We did venture out to the local Walmart though.

Sunday we head to Yazoo City, MS to visit a friend of mine.

Hi Mildred.....
