I learned something today. You ask, what did I learn? Well, since you asked, I will tell you. Motorcycle riding in southern Illinois sucks. I didn't have great hopes for the ride through Illinois, and I'm glad I didn't. The scenery was endless farm land with bad roads.
There is not much to write about today, but as usual I will start with breakfast.
Doug and Dan met us at at the Bob Evans Restaurant located just down the street for our motel. This is a chain restaurant that is located mostly in the north. Breakfast was good and the service was excellent.
I had the ham and eggs.
Doug had some kind of biscuit bowl
Dick had two eggs and two biscuits and Dan had the same thing as I did.
Dick and I already knew that western Indiana did not have a lot to offer as far as riding goes, so we elected to jump on Interstate 70 for about 50 miles to get to Illinois State Highway 1. When we arrived at Hy 1 we turned south, to what was the beginning of a very boring day. Below are a couple of pictures I took. I took some more but they all look the same.

We stopped for lunch in a small cafe in Du Quois (I know I spelled it wrong) IL. I of course had the hamburger steak.
After lunch we headed to Chester, IL. We planned to get a motel in Chester, but that didn't work out. Main reason was we couldn't find one. We then decided to go across the river to Perryville, MO where we found a American Best Value Inn. We stayed in for dinner and ordered pizza.
Tomorrow we plan to ride the roads of southern Missouri.
